Pre 1914         
August Fruehauf works as a blacksmith and carriage builder in Detroit

1914               
August Fruehauf creates the first “semi-trailer” for local lumber merchant Frederic M. Sibley

1918               
Company incorporates as Fruehauf Trailer Company, 1918-1963 (1963-1989 company is Fruehauf Corporation)

1930               
Death of August Fruehauf; Harvey Fruehauf installed as President of Fruehauf Trailer Company
