1916 Fruehauf

A 1916 Fruehauf Trailer is painstakingly transported to the Piquette Plant

A 1916 Fruehauf Trailer goes on display at the Ford Piquette Plant Museum

Randy Shelton, a commercial vehicle enthusiast and arguably one of the best experts on early Model T's and their commercial application persuaded Ruth Fruehauf, to assist in the loan of a 1916 Fruehauf Trailer to the Ford Piquette display.  Ruth had learned about the trailer which had been in storage at the Detroit Historical Society.  They wanted Ruth to assist them in finding a place for its display.  Seeing the terrific installation at Piquette and preferring that the trailer remain in Detroit,  Ruth agreed and connected the two organizations to arrange for the loan.  This trailer will be on display for the next five years or possibly longer.  Thanks are owing to the men who helped arranged the transportation, Adam Lovell of the Detroit Historical Society and the team at the Ford Piquette Plant Museum.
