Source: Obituary - The Afro American - 2-12-1966 - Detroit - The entire estate of Andrew Fruehauf (white) member of the wealthy trucking family, has been left in trust for the perpetuation of the Detroit Tribune, Michigan's oldest colored weekly newspaper. Fruehauf, who died Dec. 4, 1965, in a will dated Oct. 12, 1960, requested that his estate, now estimated to be in excess of a half million dollars, be left to the newspaper as long as it reflects the aspirations of colored Americans in the community. Fruehauf, who for more than a decade sponsored the newspaper, insisted that it carry on its pages material advocating the philosophy of the Christian Science movement of which he was a devoted believer. Named as trustees of the will to carry out the bequest are Mrs. Myrtle Fruehauf Chamberlain, a sister of the deceased and Burt B. Wolf. The law firm of Butzhold, Eaman, Long, Gust and Kennedy represents the estate. Mrs. Chamberlain was also named special administratrix. A petition for probate of the will was filed Jan. 10. There are 13 brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces who can enter claims against the estate as heirs.
